Table, chairs, sofa... where on earth to buy?

We bought exactly the same items and ended up with pretty much €15k as well. Our chairs were €50 cheaper each, but the couch was a bit more expensive. So it fits well and doesn’t seem completely unusual?

BTW: which chairs did you get?

No, it's fine. Table and chairs are about the same here, the bed was more expensive, the sofa significantly cheaper (but deliberately not a huge piece because of puking kids — just not worth it yet). The coffee table and lowboard for the TV are custom-made and in these dimensions, function, and material otherwise not comparable. The value (or purchase price, let's put it that way) of our furniture clearly exceeds the value of both cars. Everyone as they like.

My wife is more responsible for that, and she mixes everything. Ikea Bonde, finds from the Danish bed warehouse, flea market pieces dark oak next to white, a rare stylish teak table with a slate top built around 1967, and so on. None of it was expensive, she organizes the stuff for next to nothing, and then it has to be refurbished, sometimes polish or a layer of ball matte finish from Clou is enough, sometimes new glaze.... that's how we live in a collection of all sorts of things, and people who come to us say, well, I wouldn’t dare, but somehow it looks good.

We have been searching for a solid oak table with a central leg, 240x100cm, for a long time. Nothing is available for less than 3500 euros.

Have a look at hülsta. (Final price = list price - 20%).
Solid and oak is also really "heavy" and certainly hard to find.

So I eventually found something at an online retailer. If you search for "Massivholztisch 24" on Google, you come across it. The Feetone model caught our attention. We also found nice chairs there. I would have preferred a large, round table. But that gets really big and really expensive for 8 people, so it had to be rectangular. Well, we digress.
