Just checked... my current Panasonic TV in the living room and the associated Denon receiver simply go back to standby after a power loss. That absolutely brings nothing for the control, apart from the fact that you have to take the remote control in your hand anyway if it is not automated. Only the power saving thing applies for long absences.

I really wouldn't do that, at most to avoid standby consumption during long absences (vacation), but not for switching every time it's used, as the operation would become quite uncomfortable.

I can confirm that. We had planned that... the TV didn't go along with it. Now a floor lamp is plugged into the socket.

Oled TV should always be left connected to the power supply as they often run an internal burn-in protection or brightness adjustment when they are in standby mode. In extreme cases, otherwise, they can break.
