Swimming pond: Safety measures for small children

we are currently in the process of creating a swimming pond, although the edge of the water is quite shallow, I am now worried because of my little one. I don't want to put a fence around the pond, but do you perhaps have any ideas on how I could secure the pond?

Every pond is a danger for the little ones. But I survived it too. Parents simply have to pay increased attention. That means no unsupervised playing in the garden. Never.

Otherwise, a fence, I don't see any other options.

Well, neighborhood kids climb over the fence and fall in and then you are to blame, it has all happened before. Not to mention of course your own offspring, there will inevitably be moments where the parents are not paying full attention. A really nice option is an automatic wooden cover if you can imagine something like that.

You can also install a fixed metal grid just above the water surface. But beautiful is something else ...

You can also install the grid just below the water surface; it is then hardly visible. Another possibility is to build "slopes" in the shore area that are in the water; if you fall in, they "catch"/hold you.

But with the grid, it’s not a swimming pond anymore. ;-)
