I heard that with the proper Swedish house, meaning the prefab one from Sweden imported here, the measurements don’t follow the German standard. I just noticed this while reading the thread about the windows. This also applies to the doors. Doing it yourself quickly isn’t cheaper either. I suppose this might affect other standards as well?! Otherwise, I find Swedish houses very cozy to look at and think it’s a great decision to build such a house. Near us, Scanhaus Marlow Marlow (a German company) set up one like this, though without a veranda. A nice gable roof house in wine red. I like it. However, the windows look relatively small.

When I was a child, people still drove on the left in SE and did not use the metric system, but rather inches, etc. In house construction, there may still be remnants of this.
Regarding Scanhaus Marlow Marlow: As far as I know, they produce near Rostock and near Malmö. The owners are German.

Thank you for the initial answers and hints. The thing with the gutter is interesting, I'll keep an eye on it. Does anyone know the manufacturers: Begus and Aladomo - they are supposed to be good as well, here in the south the solar heaters just aren't that widespread.

Why drag it far away? In the Allgäu there are many, very good timber house builders, I wouldn't necessarily choose a provider who is hundreds of km away. The style will be done for you by those from the Allgäu as well

If you want to keep an eye on the gutters, also pay attention to Talis... if I remember correctly, none of them are included without an extra charge.

The problem with the Allgäu manufacturers is the construction time and also the price. I am already in discussions, but construction times (from planning to moving in) of 10-16 months... where is the advantage of a prefabricated house? It has to go much faster - and that's where I come to the SH providers. Climbee is right, the Allgäu manufacturers do the style as well. I still have one in close consideration - but I think it will fail because of the price.
