Structural engineer and KfW55 certification

So far we have nothing in hand from the structural engineer. However, since by the start of construction:

[*]Proof of thermal insulation
[*]Proof of structural stability

must be submitted to the building authority, our structural engineer will have worked accordingly.

That means these services MUST come from the structural engineer? Or can the KFW expert also prepare the thermal insulation certificate?

Not just "or" - the thermal insulation certificate must be prepared by a state-recognized expert in sound and thermal insulation. If the structural engineer also has this certification, he can prepare the certificate; if he is "only" a structural engineer, the aforementioned expert must perform the calculations.

You have an architect; he will know which tasks he has to assign to whom.

Then you should have a clarifying conversation with your architect and – depending on the outcome – in my opinion reconsider continuing to employ them. I expect an architect to comprehensively inform their clients; even more so than from a salesperson. Edit: Thanks! Rhine greetings
