Hello everyone,
despite extensive research, I have not definitively figured out how the responsibilities are divided regarding the topic of energy/energy certificates for a new building.
I hope you can help me.

We are planning the construction of a single-family house and must comply with the KfW55 standard.
The structural engineer and the certified energy efficiency expert authorized to submit the KfW application are two different people in our case. The question:
Can the structural engineer carry out all the necessary calculations to comply with the KfW55 standard so that the energy efficiency expert only needs to review everything, submit the application, monitor the construction, and finally confirm it?
Or is the structural engineer unable to do this exactly, so that I also need the planning service from the energy efficiency expert (in addition to the services described above) to comply with the KfW55 standard?

Thank you very much for the support.

If they are reputable experts, they should know who has to do what and is responsible for doing it. There may be a certain gray area. And always remember, [KfW Sachverständiger] only costs 50%, so why pay more for the structural engineer?

Hello MarcWen,
thank you for the reply. How can I recognize an honest, reputable expert? Even though I might be wrong when it comes to experts who are actually honest and reputable, I initially assume (which is not objectionable) that everyone wants to make a good profit; and therefore tends to offer more.
That is why I would like to learn here through the forum help how the responsibilities usually are (I assume there is such a thing).

You can't really tell that. How do you build? Architects usually have a team in tow who take care of those things.

Roughly estimated structural engineer + checking engineer ~ 2% of the construction cost. KfW expert ~ 2,000 euros.

We had a very productive conversation with the architect/structural engineer/KfW expert.

I would of course still be interested in how the responsibilities are usually distributed. If anyone knows something about this, I look forward to an answer. The process will probably be that the building application is first created with the architect and the energy expert, and then the structural engineer takes over.

@ MarcWen Why was the conversation with the architect, structural engineer, and KfW expert so productive? Was it necessary to have the structural engineer involved before the building application was completed? Did the structural engineer also calculate or provide any thermal/energy calculations or proofs?

The building application is a different process. You don't need a structural engineer or KfW expert for that. After the building permit, we met together. It then took about 4 weeks during which the structural engineer/architect/KfW expert exchanged ideas actively. Then we received our online confirmation for the KfW loan application from the KfW expert. You need this at your bank for financing.

So far, we have not received anything from the structural engineer. However, since with the start of construction:
[*]Proof of sound insulation [*]Proof of thermal insulation [*]Proof of structural stability
must be submitted to the building authority, our structural engineer will have worked accordingly. Surely we can review the documents later; currently, we see no need for that.

For us, there was the particularity that we were not allowed to appoint the KfW expert before April 1st. (50% subsidy)

Normally, structural engineers and KfW experts present you with offers in which all services are defined.
