I had RC compacted, but only 20 cm (but I have gravel sand underneath, which is also nicely permeable) Then I poured a 10 cm concrete slab on top, after drilling a 90 cm hole with an earth auger with KG pipe in it. On the concrete slab, the large rubber feet like in s photos were supposed to go, and on top of that the heat pump. The plumber didn’t complain, only that I built fairly deep, he said if it snows it could be that the heat pump gets covered with snow. Then I still mortared a concrete base onto the concrete slab and the rest was placed on top of that. I found a concrete slab easier than strip foundations.

I didn’t understand the background of decoupling here, maybe someone can explain it to me: The foundations are not connected to the house, so no vibrations are transmitted Sound is produced anyway whether decoupled or not The rubber buffers become brittle/hard over time and I believe they are attached to metal, which even leads to an amplification of vibrations rather than a massive foundation or?

Regardless of that, I can imagine a heat pump must not really vibrate, otherwise a vibration damper is probably defective?

It's only about not annoying your neighbors. If the heat pump is firmly anchored in concrete, noises can occur. The rubber lasts longer than the heat pump. They are specially made for such professional applications. And no, it doesn’t amplify anything. Just a suggestion. I don’t care how you set up the heat pump. But I’m not the only one using this method. There’s probably a reason for that ;)

Yes okay, I see comfort as an argument

Technically, I assume it probably doesn't matter?

At our place, the pump faces the street in the turning circle, the neighbors will be relieved;)
