Hello everyone,

since I just came across the point about the staircase dimensions in another thread and I have been unsure for a few weeks whether the staircase dimensions are okay, I am putting it here up for discussion.

I only have experience with the staircase at my parents' house, which is 2.30m x 1.65m and, in my opinion, easy to walk on.

Attached is the picture with the values the architect provided. The dimensions of the stairwell are exactly 2m x 2m.

What do you think?

The dimensions are pretty much exactly like that. For everyday use, it works if you take the stairs one at a time. I'm currently trying hard to remember if I've consciously met my wife on the stairs in the last 3 years. If you want to get larger pieces of furniture upstairs, you have to maneuver a bit and it's better to have one or two more people. Either carry it upright and/or lift it over the railing.

That reassures me a bit, as I have seen a collection of "usual" stair dimensions here in the forum and mine was not even remotely among them.

What about the values of the staircase, like "15 STG 19.0/26.3"?

Now you are asking me something. It definitely has 15 steps. Our construction was over 3 years ago, so I can no longer remember the step heights/depths. I just searched for the offer for the stairs in the emails, but it's not mentioned there either.

As a small addition:
We have a railing-bearing staircase without a wall stringer. This makes the staircase appear a bit more airy than staircases with a stringer.

According to common teaching, a bit steeper than comfortable (rise measure 64.3, recommended 63).

This calculation is not the riser height, but the step measurement rule (2x riser height + 1x tread length). The 63 cm was the basis for a long time. Nowadays, it sometimes goes up to 65 cm (people are also getting taller).

The slope is about 36°. This should still be OK. You can't really change much anyway, unless there is more space for the staircase. Personally, I don't like these narrow, half-turned stairs.
