May I ask if and how you have solved this?

We rely on the controlled residential ventilation with HR and are considering a split air conditioner.. The last nights have been really awful..

Just do it, with us the controlled residential ventilation runs 365 days 24/7 and in summer, when it gets warm, the air conditioning in the house turns on and stays on 24/7 until it cools down again (or there is a temperature drop). The air exchange rate of a controlled residential ventilation system in a normal single-family house is far too low to even bother thinking about it.

Hello everyone.

Our Panasonic air conditioner has been running since mid-April and we are very satisfied. We have installed a floor-standing unit upstairs and a wall-mounted unit downstairs in the living room. Each with an outdoor unit. After some experimentation, we start the devices in the heat of the afternoon around 3 o'clock. The living and bedrooms are cold within 10 minutes. The rest of the house takes about 40 minutes and is then also cooled down to a comfortable temperature. However, about 1 degree warmer than the rooms where the units are installed. The ventilation works as hoped and distributes the cool air throughout the house. The power consumption is negligible. In June we used about 60 kWh and the units ran every day until sunset. That has to be! If you turn off the units during the day, the house gets warm again very quickly. In the evening, when the sun is gone, it stays cool until morning. However, both units are so efficient that you can simply leave them running. Because the house cools down so quickly, it also makes no sense to operate the system all day. Starting it shortly before you come home is completely sufficient. So we are very satisfied and can recommend this combination to everyone. :)

That already sounds great :) Thanks!

May I ask why you decided on a floor-standing unit? Doesn’t it feel like it’s constantly in the way somehow? I only really know it from abroad that they are installed on the wall.

And what do you think about one outdoor unit and 2 indoor units, do you think the power of one outdoor unit is enough? And where did you install your outdoor unit?

That depends on how big the outdoor unit is. Ours can handle up to 5 indoor units without any problem. It's accordingly more expensive because it basically depends on the performance of the outdoor unit.

Hello,

The floor-standing unit is due to the slope above and is now located under the Velux window.
A wall unit would have been cheaper and more efficient, but unfortunately there was no way to install it.
The outdoor units are on the garage and the distances were very short. There was also enough space.
The decision for a mono-split configuration was simply due to price and efficiency. One outdoor and one indoor unit each are cheaper and more efficient than one outdoor and two indoor units.
The data of the house is in the first post. The floor-standing unit is 2.5 kW and the wall unit is 3.5.

Best regards
