Wings... you have great houses ;) We also sleep directly wall to wall with the child, which I never wanted, but it didn't work any other sensible way. We have the somewhat thicker wall in between and a wardrobe over the entire area. And concrete ceiling below and above. And we have milled door frames because of the ventilation. Still, you don't hear anything. Well, at normal volume with standard amusements ;) What kind of floor do you have? It shouldn't really matter for sound (except if you stomp around). I would probably also first do the sound test in the attic.

Strange, I spontaneously thought that this was the issue here. The floor is not installed as a floating floor. Isn't that so @all?

Floating installed flooring prevents or makes noise transmission more difficult - this was explained to us. Whether all noise or just impact sound, I do not know.

Yes, exactly. And the OP is talking about continuous installation. So for me, the most likely reason for the impact sound transmission. But I am a layperson when it comes to sound issues...
