Many thanks for your feedback. That's exactly how I understood it, so I didn't completely misinform myself at least. I think the concept is a good compromise given our requirements.

Very very good feedback that makes complete sense.

But it also sounds as if the approach we have in mind is quite acceptable and that turning to someone like Bauhaus, Viebrockhaus, etc. is not nonsense given what we want.

The question that arises for us a bit:
On what criteria should one base the choice of the right solid house provider? There are various tests, but to what extent they are meaningful... e.g., from Focus Money, which in my opinion is not a specialist magazine on the topic and thus probably provides only rough orientation.

Any tips on how to determine the favorite here?
By the way, we come from the Stuttgart/Calw region.

That is probably more of a rough confusion; you can't do anything with that. Eighty percent of the providers don't even know them. Water boils at one hundred degrees, that's the same nationwide. When building a house, you can't reinvent the wheel; you can only do it properly or not. Nationwide providers somehow manage a reasonable coverage, but the "medium-sized" construction company can only offer its houses competitively in the region. Reading about a Dortmund provider in Nuremberg would be pointless - that's why usually only the "global players" are compared in such cases. Whether Häberle or Pfleiderer is better for you, you can only see in the region. That's where their references (or misdeeds) are, and there people say "nice guy" or "trickster." Look at that; nothing else helps. The references and the company. If you want to save time, take the one with the most miserable website first; those are often the most reliable craftsmen.

Don’t take it the wrong way, but that doesn’t help much; I’ve already mentioned myself that the test can probably only be a rough orientation.

The question is how do you find the good regional providers and what criteria distinguish the good from the bad?
There should be some point of contact, right?
Hopefully, the bad website is not the only possible decision metric

Maybe someone can recommend something in the Stuttgart region; the feedback so far suggests that Bauhaus/Viebrockhaus etc. tend to work with reputable partners in order not to ruin their own reputation.

By the way, we would now proceed by looking at who the regional partners of the aforementioned solid house providers are and what kind of reviews they enjoy. Wouldn't that be an approach?

The best information comes from other homeowners. Don’t hesitate to approach and question newly moved-in homeowners in new development areas. You can also ask the developer directly for references and visit them there.
