The volume is more a matter of the design rather than the device itself. Zehnder also have connected it with the help of Smart Grid/relay/timer to a Novelan. More complicated than USING ONE brand but feasible. The question would be: what is it supposed to "achieve" in this context?

If you have a superior control system (KNX for example), then this is of course not necessary, but you can still control the devices uniformly.

If not, then you can handle having 2 indoor units (if you even want any) - for example, if you want to quickly select a "party mode" for the ventilation, it is somewhat more comfortable to control it centrally. Furthermore, you can simultaneously control the controlled residential ventilation in absence/vacation mode.

Finally - if this is still relevant at all - controlled residential ventilation systems (including ventilation duct installation) were for a while only co-funded by BAFA if they had a "joint control" with the heat pump. However, I no longer understand whether this is still current for new builds.

The funding has not been available for a long time. In this respect, I would always advocate for two independent devices that can also be replaced individually.

Approval from the district came lightning fast, € 353.13.
Commissioning of the heating system in autumn 2018. Since then, trouble-free and whisper quiet.
Heat pump 6kw heats 190 m² KFW 55.
Electric auxiliary heating element was deactivated after the screed program.
Annual consumption without photovoltaics approx. 4200 kwh.
All in all: Exactly the right decision. Anytime again.

P.S.: For future photovoltaics, be sure to have empty conduits installed!
