When building a house, you specify the temperatures at which the rooms should be heated. With a properly set heat pump, you don't have to adjust it to be colder or warmer for the next 10 years.
I still can't quite come to terms with not being able to control the temperature of a room. People have different temperature perceptions depending on their "hormonal state," mood, and activity. I know this from my wife, for example ... 21°C ... "brrr ... it's cold here - where is my beloved fleece blanket?!" ... another day at 21°C: "wow ... it's really warm here!"
I also once dreamed of radiant cooling and wanted to implement it when it was time for a new heating system. We had already obtained a quote (air-to-water heat pump - actually a brine heat pump was planned, photovoltaics on the roof). It was supposed to cost €50,000 plus installation work. Immediately after that, there was a loud bang and my dream bubble burst...
Now I am considering installing ventilation at least in the upper floor (bathroom and bedrooms). The system would have to be installed in the attic. I’ll open a thread on this topic when I get the chance :)
