Hello everyone.
During the construction phase, I laid 14 Cat7 network cables (2 in each corner of the building, + 2 hidden in the roof box).

I would like to install 14 network cameras, which I will power with PoE.
I am looking for suitable software for this.
A small Mini ITX PC is already installed behind the TV in the kitchen. (At the time of building the wall, I immediately set a lintel and reserved a 30x30cm recess (plastered wedi board).

Question:
Does anyone know a suitable surveillance software that they can recommend?
Cameras should record and possibly send push notifications to the phone at certain times.

Many thanks

Well, most camera providers also have an app that can manage the individual cameras.

A professional solution would be, for example, a Synology NAS (Definitely get the plus version). Synology has software that then manages the cameras (and stores the footage on the server). The downside is the first 2 cameras are free; for more, you have to purchase licenses. The advantage with the NAS is that you already have the server for home automation and all the other things you can do with it.

Thank you, I'll get informed.
Unfortunately, I had 0.0 time so far to deal with the subject in any way. Plumbing, electrical, bathroom, and kitchen completion had priority in the last 3 months.

When recordings are stored with some stranger, I have a very uneasy feeling. I also don't imagine it to be very pleasant if parents find out that nude pictures of their children suddenly appear on corresponding websites.

Admittedly, I assume that this probability is very low, but I do not want to rule out such a thing.

What can certainly be done, and possibly is done, is that a profile is created of the users, such as when they leave the house, when they return, the mail carrier rings twice, etc.

Thus, an isolated solution was chosen here. Although the recording device can be accessed via smartphone, this has never been done because this device is not connected to the internet.

Simply put, this means that no one from the outside has access to the recordings.

Such data should, if possible, not be handed over to any stranger.

But as I said, this is a very personal attitude.

14 cameras is nothing that a mini-PC in the kitchen or a consumer NAS like Synology could handle. That will be four digits.
