Smart home control, provider / experiences?

Hello dear members, I have been thinking all the time about getting this Smarthome. I would like to know if any of you also have something like this. What do you have connected, what do you control, what experiences do you have, and which provider. I don’t know if one really needs it, but I am a man who loves such gadgets. Money doesn’t matter for now.

Hello, we are also planning in that direction, for us it will probably be Loxone. After weeks of research, it seems to be the best price/performance/flexibility ratio for us. We will control roller shutters, lighting, heating, and maybe one or two gadgets via it over the next few years. Best regards.

Hello, I rely on KNX in my house and use the "opensource" solution Openhab as the control center. I have already seen some installations based on Loxone, and the only disadvantage is the Loxone philosophy. Because the company tries, in my opinion, to establish its own standards. And there are already enough standards.

Hello, that's true, but the wiring is flexible. That means, with proper planning during construction, I can switch to KNX if necessary. Currently, KNX is simply too expensive for us. We also don’t want a ready-made system set up, but want to program as much as possible ourselves and also build and configure one or the other sensor ourselves. There are some nice things on the internet. In two weeks we have a planning appointment with the [Loxone Partner], then we will see further. Nothing is signed yet.
