Sliding door completely disappears into the wall - how is this possible?

From today's perspective, we would somehow find a double swing door in a really bright color cooler as well. But now it is as it is.

I think you have already made the right decision.

Friends of ours have a double swing door between the entrance area and the living area, and one leaf is always open, thus "in the middle" of the room.

I find your sliding door the more practical solution.

For the reason of the eternally open door, we have completely done without doors between the entrance area and the living/dining area and have not missed them so far.

I will also use a concealed sliding door between the open kitchen area and the hallway. The structural conditions would now even allow the door to be made extra high (up to approx. 2.60m). Do you think that looks good? The disadvantage would of course be the significantly more expensive door leaf and possibly the higher weight. Whether that noticeably affects the lifespan? BU says no, as he would use a reputable track system.
