I would agree with that, but with some restrictions. To connect a new ceiling lamp, I don’t need an electrician, and to connect a siphon, no plumber. When you reinstall your computer, you don’t call a computer expert either. I will buy a standard siphon at the hardware store tomorrow. If the water drains with it, IKEA gets the stuff back. If it doesn’t drain, I give up and let the "professional" handle it.

Hi, I had a similar problem with the ikea set. For me, it was due to the incorrectly installed siphon. I have a kind of hose that I had to drastically shorten so that the water drains properly. I think if you tweak the ikea construction a bit, you'll get the result.

It is clear.
1. Does the water drain smoothly if I pour it directly into the wall drain?
2. It no longer works since the new IKEA system was installed.

What amounts do you pour into the drain without a siphon? The same amount that goes into the sink?
How long was the interval between disassembly and assembly?

-since then the water only drains extremely slowly (a full basin takes 2-3 hours)
-if water is poured directly into the wall drain, it drains normally
-if the siphon is not connected to the wall, the water drains normally (into a bucket)

My spontaneous thought is that the drainage amount kind of brakes itself (i.e. creates a blockage and fights against its own spring stiffness), but even in this strange setup I don't see enough volume for that). Is this drainage "speed" linear, i.e. no faster start or "plop" at the end, and does the amount of a cup really take several minutes?
Does it make a difference for the phenomenon whether you just pull the plug or also create a whirl?
