Should the architect decide more on his own after all? What am I supposed to tell him? "Split-level floor, open kitchen and space for 3-4 people... go ahead then"?

Better not – a general contractor’s lackey is not fit as a fully qualified architect, this realization is not specific to stone construction general contractors. But you should see if there is a catalog basis closer to your wishes before you heavily modify one.

If the dressing room is a central passage area, I would plan cabinets with doors. Ikea-Pax is convenient for that, and the standard sizes are 50, 75, 100. You can't get 240 cm in one piece. Sliding doors ... 150, 200 width.

By the way, I find the ground floor approach from much more successful. There should certainly be a partition wall behind the kitchen cabinets toward the living room - right?

I have posted some photos of the property. We had the floor plan on the ground floor revised; we are still working on the upper floor. We are considering moving the bay window to the bottom of the plan and then shifting the garden more toward the south/southeast. Then to place the house entirely in the west with the 3m distance to the street; in front of the garage it should/must be 5m. By the way, the street is a residential street; through traffic is not expected there.

The room height is 2.80m, the windows and doors are 2.40m high (if I remember correctly regarding the latter).
