Hi,
basically everything is extremely compacted. Nothing happens that quickly. However, we will first protect the slopes with slope protection mats made of coconut fibers against erosion. That way, nothing can happen there for now. At least I hope so. We don’t really know much ourselves and trust the statements of the experts. In the picture you can see how it looked at the beginning.

Hi,
either grass (like a dike), so the kids can roll down nicely...
Or camouflage with bushes, install ground protection mats, then nothing should happen - if done properly.
@Enno: May I ask how much such an embankment cost?
We don’t have a big slope, but I would like to have the house raised as much as possible - and permissible.
Cheers, Olli

Hello Olli,

we also deliberately wanted to raise the house slightly to already enjoy the great view from the terrace.

Our floor slab measures about 844cmx988cm. On the left, right, and front sides, an additional 2 meters of fill were added, and 4 meters towards the back (terrace). Also, on the street side, 30 cm of excavation was done and newly compacted for the crane parking area.

We had approximately 160 tons of clay soil disposed of, 224 cubic meters of concrete recycling had to be delivered, ring earth electrodes and geotextiles had to be incorporated, and we paid a total of about 15,500 euros. But it depends on where you build. We are building in [Sachsen].

Hi Enno, thanks for the info, for us it will be Ostholstein. It should also be as high as possible because of the view (of the sea). Let's see what we can do. Cheers Olli

I also had to think a bit of a Frisian mound when looking at the embankment :-)

I had previously asked in a garden and landscaping forum what could somehow be made out of it. The only response was "for God's sake, that will never support a house, it will all collapse and why not go to an architect and structural engineer beforehand." No one realized that it was all created by the architect and structural engineer. We think it's great and by now have many ideas of what we can implement there.
