Why is the design the way it is now?
We wanted a modern house that can still be used especially in old age or in case of disability. Therefore, we planned a large office/guest room on the ground floor, which can later be converted into a bedroom. For this reason, the bathroom on the ground floor is equipped with a walk-in shower. The exit to the terrace is designed at ground level so that it can also be accessed with a wheelchair. Originally, the house was planned without a basement, therefore the utility room and garage have enlarged parking spaces. The technology will be shifted to the basement. We keep the parking spaces upstairs despite the basement so that they can be accessed in old age. The basement may no longer be accessible in old age.
What is the most important/basic question about the floor plan summarized in 130 characters?
In advance: My wife and I are very satisfied with our architect’s design. Nevertheless, we would appreciate external feedback. We are open to both positive and negative criticism, as long as it is constructive. Perhaps some may have sensible improvement suggestions.
Since we will have a fireplace and will be supplied with unlimited free wood, maybe someone has an idea where and how the wood could be well stored.
