I liked the mindlessly simple life in the farmhouse in the USA. 400m to the nearest neighbor, wasteful space conditions, heating and cooling thanks to cheap energy using "brute force" methods - who needs insulation when temperatures are sometimes 0, sometimes 45 degrees and you just overdimension everything. I can still well understand this longing for simplicity today. Only it is no longer contemporary and certainly not in densely populated Central Europe.
