Siemens Studioline - have I received all the "Monday devices"?

Hello everyone,

somehow I am frustrated and need a few thoughts.

We have been living in our new home for 1 year and received a new kitchen. The appliances installed in the kitchen are all from the Siemens Studioline series, the refrigerator from the standard series. The appliances were delivered in October 2022 after a very long waiting time.

We have had problems with every appliance except for the steam oven and the extractor hood from the beginning. The Siemens customer service has been here several times, but the problems are either not reproducible at that moment (demonstration effect?) or the technician does something and as soon as the technician leaves the house, the error reappears.

By now I am annoyed by the total number of errors and would prefer to replace the appliances, but that is not that easy (especially financially).

For some things I even recorded the malfunctions and showed them to the technician in order to prove the error, but since it does not occur at the moment when he is there, it is said that no error could be found.

I will list what is currently an issue:

Dishwasher: made extremely loud “water pressure noises” as if too much water was hitting too small a valve. According to customer service, this is now a known problem. At the first service call, a bigger hole was drilled – no improvement, 2 weeks later the valve was completely replaced with the note that this is now known and this valve should solve the problem. However, the machine still makes other louder humming noises; these are now attributed to the zeolite drying and said to be normal... But it is quite annoying in an open living area. Later on, I found similar reports online, saying that a clip or something would need to be replaced, but the customer service technician said he could not do anything about it...

In addition, for some time now, despite switching dishwasher tablets afterwards, about half of them remain in the dispenser and are not dissolved. In 23 years of using dishwashers, this has never happened to me before and now it happens constantly...

Cooktop: the full-surface induction cooktop automatically recognizes pots and their positions. When I take a pan/pot off the stove, e.g. when flipping a pancake or pouring something off and then put it back on the stove and want to change the temperature, the cooktop does not respond... For example, the new set level 8 appears on the field, previous level 3, but the heat remains at the previous setting. So I have to turn off the stove first and then turn it on again and adjust accordingly. I filmed this phenomenon, but the technician said it is not visible in the error memory of the cooktop (which only saves the last 8 cooking operations...), of course it does not happen constantly...

Microwave: at the first use of the microwave, an extremely loud humming noise was also noticeable. Customer service came and it turned out that the fan was defective. It was replaced and ran perfectly until now. For about 2 weeks now, it sporadically makes extremely loud noises again, both during active use and afterwards, exactly the same sounds as before...

Refrigerator: the refrigerator does what it is supposed to do, but after a relatively short time it has “yellowing” spots where obviously some rods or something run along. They wanted to suggest it might be caused by a cleaning agent I use. However, I can’t imagine that, I have been cleaning my refrigerators for years with the same refrigerator cleaner...

How would you proceed in such a case, keep “annoying” customer service until they can also reproduce the errors or throw the appliances out the window...

The kitchen salesman sympathizes with us but can’t do anything and said, “oh man, it seems you received all Monday devices”...

Sorry for the long text, but I am at my wit’s end by now...

I can confirm that. However, only for a few minutes towards the end of the program. That has never happened to me - even with cheap Aldi tablets. However, I don't have more comparable devices from the line - my manufacturers are mixed. The cooktop problems are unknown at Neff (it's all the same = BSH).

If the customer has been on site three times for the "same" error, you have an "entitlement" to exchange the defective device. Please make sure to get the repair reports handed over to you. Otherwise, you have no proof.

There aren't actually many other options. For example, we have different manufacturers in our kitchen and are very satisfied with them. Among them is also the oven from Siemens. It runs perfectly. The stove and the dishwasher are from Miele. And the refrigerator from Liebherr. The dishwasher is, for example, extremely quiet. That was also very important to us in our open kitchen.

The dealer must provide a warranty. The customer can choose between repair and replacement. I would simply demand replacement.

For us, it also happens at the beginning of the program. At the end, the noise is not as loud as at the beginning. That could be due to the drying, but the noise at the beginning should have nothing to do with the drying.

He was there twice for the same error; the third time it was supposed to be the drying.

Hmm, stupid of me, I didn't think of the protocols because he did everything on the tablet and I didn't have to sign anything.

That is not entirely correct. First of all, the dealer has the right to remedy and thus fulfill the contract. Only after the third repair attempt has failed does the buyer have the right to replacement or withdrawal from the purchase contract and possibly damages. Perhaps a specialist can still conjure up the appropriate Building Code paragraph here; for me, that was too long ago. For this very reason, we are still considering switching away from the Studio Line devices to Miele & Co. But whether all this will be spared there is questionable. Nowadays, all of them do not differ much in terms of quality. However, the price does, which would speak in favor of Siemens.
