I always say software update, that solves almost all problems....at least that's what all manufacturers always tell me, whether it's a car, heating system, or [Rasenmähroboter] :D

The software?

Hmm... we specifically chose the version that has no remote control, but the fact that you can find the toilet as a Bluetooth device means: there is active software... (so far, I don't know how to access it)

Rubbing the contact surfaces has already improved things a bit (that's why a loose connection seems like the most likely cause to me) If it - as expected - gets worse again, we will keep this idea in mind...

Then maybe the thing doesn't spit spontaneously, but mistakenly feels addressed by a pressure command or something similar ...

I rather suspect that the flush default is to regard all other Bluetooth devices in its vicinity as buddies and to respond with spitting, for example when the espresso machine reports that it is now going into standby mode or something. There is even a professor for such psi phenomena, Walter von Lucadou, who specifically researches supposed hauntings. So haunting with a simple k, without c ;-)
