Should precast concrete filigree ceilings in the basement be left unplastered?

I have to say, with @la.schute it looks really great! I'm also curious about the room height.

Here are a few pictures of our main basement room. I think we will now decide not to take the risk and prefer to paint the ceiling white. With a room height of 265cm (285cm-20cm floor construction) that's too risky for me. The black spotlights and switches will still be installed :-)

We are currently planning to leave the ceiling in our living area as exposed concrete. Is there a rough guideline for the room height that one should have for this?

Exposed concrete can be painted just as white (or even antenna yellow) as plaster, so you don't have to be overwhelmed by cement gray.

But it looks nice and clean and smooth at your place. For me, it all looked much more blotchy and really like a shell construction. Or have you already gone over it once (with a sanding machine)?

No, nothing has been done yet.

Why don't you leave the ceiling as it is for now and then see how it looks once the rest is done? If it doesn't fit, you can always paint the ceiling later. However, I could well imagine it working with the large windows.

The question should rather be, what does it look like in combination (smooth wall and untreated concrete ceiling)?

Exposed concrete is quite different from normal filigree ceilings. It looks pretty messy, like trying too hard and really not succeeding. Unfortunately. I would have liked it too. But for that you really need about one or two rows of bricks higher.
