Shorten 60cm tall cabinet to 57cm width

hello everyone,
I want to shorten a 60x60x200 metod tall cabinet to 57cm width. it will also get a 40cm high extension which should also be shortened in width.
the reason...
i have a 57cm wide and 60cm deep niche in the hallway, i want to use this cabinet as a cleaning cabinet and for collecting waste paper.
so far i have thought everything through, shortening as such is no problem. also the shelves are ok.
the fronts can remain 60cm wide since then they will sit flush against the wall.

now to the problem:
has anyone ever shortened Maximera drawers in width? these have that metal sheet in the rear area which locks into the two side parts. is the maximera stable enough if i leave this out and join the parts with wood?

With the RATIONELL drawers from Blum it was so nice because you could use the rear wall holders of the Tandembox plus. Unfortunately, MAXIMERA is IKEA-specific. Just cut out 3 cm from the middle of the rear wall, saw off the lower curved part, and rivet the metal piece behind the two rear wall remnants.

hello Ikea expert, the idea is good, but... I don't like cutting metal. Already when cutting the rails for the wall cabinets I thought, "I have tinnitus in my eye" only see whistles lg but it will probably come down to that... or I won't use a drawer for waste paper and just put a plastic box in instead.

You can easily solve the problem when sawing metal by letting Schatzi do the sawing.

Or you can build a drawer completely by yourself with a kit.

I haven't dealt with such kits yet. Didn't even know that such things exist.
