Our neighbors have already planned their house completely with Weberhaus. We came to the plot through a municipal allocation process and do not want a prefabricated house. The 20 degree pitch could only be deviated from if both neighbors agree on the same pitch. However, because of the previously non-existent neighbors (us), they have now planned everything according to the development plan (20 degrees). We are both not planning a basement.

It should be about 4.5 meters. We are planning to add a level to the children's rooms in a few years, as a loft bed level made of wood.

Request their plans, then you can at least adjust the profiles of the houses at the "seam side".

I find the term "extreme" inappropriate. A generous room height is created and thus significantly more air volume. The appearance is a matter of taste and execution; there is nothing extreme about it. If several small rooms are created at the top, the room geometry can become quite peculiar. The installation of sleeping lofts is an efficient solution for children and teenagers from an age where there are no longer accident concerns. With more air volume, (at least for me) the feeling of well-being in a room increases. You need a bit more energy for heating; how much is a question of the execution. I would put some thought into the room acoustics of the rooms created; however, for me, that basically belongs in every house plan.

Also have 20°, but planned a normal gable roof and 11.6m house width. This way, we can install the already mentioned sleeping level in a child's room under the ridge (about 2x3m). I probably wouldn't recommend much more "span" than the tight 6m either, because otherwise you simply get rooms that are too high, where the proportions become difficult. Alternatively, you can add a half level again in the staggered floor depending on the use.

I once had an apartment with a shed roof, but flatter (estimated 12-15°) and it started at about 1.9m, it was very cozy and comfortable to place the sofa corner there.

At the end of the day, it makes the most sense to build "with the neighbors," otherwise it looks strange in the end. That doesn't mean you have to build the same house, but heights, offsets, etc. can be aligned with each other.
