Here is a summary again:
Niche 135 cm wide and 110 cm deep (we want to lose as little of this as possible)
The "space" should then be equipped with shelves to maximize storage area.
Preferably on the floor without a baseboard to enter and exit without tripping.

Image 1 shows a picture from Ebay (the fittings can be bought there, panels have to be procured yourself)
Image 2 shows my current premium solution which unfortunately is excluded due to cost and the deep drilling into the floor
Image 3 shows a supplier who sells the fittings and unfortunately does not show a picture of the finished version
Image 4 I just found while searching for examples, probably in the style meant..

If anyone has already dared such a DIY project and would like to share their experiences, feel free ;-)
I would like to avoid drilling in the floor and prefer the doors at the bottom to be attached only to the wall (or use shorter screws if you only have light panels)

If you make rails on the top and bottom, then something foldable should also slide on them, right?

Is the opening of the niche at your place ceiling-high or just more like door-high?

For viewing with the vertical blinds, which have the advantage that when opened (of which I unfortunately have no picture), they do not protrude into the room:
This is the niche before the installation of the vertical blinds:

And here you can see the vertical blinds in full height, unfortunately not full width, as the hallway is too small, so only a second section

Have you ever watched videos about folding fittings, e.g. Hettich or Häfele or similar, to see if you could do it yourself? They are usually explained really well. Then, for example, louver doors from the hardware store or Ikea Pax/Method. You just have to check if the dimensions match standard doors and for which dimensions the folding fittings are designed.

Ceiling-high… I like that. And it doesn’t flutter so much that it’s annoying?
