Dear forum,
At the beginning of the year, we purchased a semi-detached house plot, where the other half had not yet been sold. Despite the uncertainty, we decided to go ahead with the planning. In the past few months, we have found a builder, created the architectural plans, and submitted the building permit application. Meanwhile, the second plot has been sold, and we have exchanged information with the neighbors.
We are currently planning a solid house with 36.5 cm aerated concrete (Ytong) and a 17.5 cm sand-lime brick masonry partition wall to the other half. The neighbors want to build a timber frame house (Massa Haus). I do not know any further details at the moment.
I have already spoken to our builder about this, and he (of course) does not really have experience with timber frame construction. We would like to try to design the sound insulation as well/optimally as possible.
Does anyone have experience with this topic and can give us advice on what we need to do or consider? Does anyone know what the wall structure looks like for semi-detached houses from Massa Haus?
PS: I know that a uniform material would be much better, but unfortunately it is not possible.
Thank you all.
