Selection of prefabricated house providers experiences

Hello everyone,

my husband and I have signed the reservation for a plot of land and are currently considering which prefabricated house provider we want to build with.

We know the test reports from Capital and Focus Money, but find the market very non-transparent. It is difficult to determine which ones are, for example, premium providers and which are, to put it bluntly, "budget providers." Which providers offer a good price-performance ratio?

So far, Weberhaus, Hanse Haus, Fingerhuthaus, Bien-Zenker and Dan-Haus have caught our eye.

How did you make a selection back then?

High quality, good service and contract conditions, but also a good price-performance ratio are important to us. What are your experiences with Hanse Haus, Fingerhuthaus, Bien-Zenker and Dan-Haus?

Go to a model home park and gather information about the wall construction, the equipment, etc. Contact the salespeople.

Consider what you want. For example, energy saving ordinance or Kfw 40 Plus, Swedish house, modern half-timbered house, etc., features.
The more the provider has in the standard (scope of construction services description) that suits you, the "cheaper" it will be.
If you do not want a pure salesperson and/or regional craftsmen, then contact regional small companies.

I would not look nationwide, but rather for a home builder who works regionally. The ones from the magazines are the market leaders, few in the entire industry, who also do not have to be better than the smaller ones, of which the journalists do not even know they exist.

Why should it be a prefabricated house at all? Are there specific reasons for that?

I just took a look at Focus Money and Capital. FM gave builders an evaluation sheet, C sent its consultants out as builders themselves.
Be that as it may: I can talk about two well-regarded companies from the neighborhood that had serious problems with the execution.
The trauma of mold spores throughout the entire house can happen to anyone, even with high-priced projects.



Premium is expensive, cheap is affordable.

It is important that the description of construction services matches as closely as possible what one wants. The problem for you is to read "between the lines" in the description of construction services. It can be useful to seek external advice for this.
