You laugh. You don't need a drill anymore for a big hole in the wall. A cordless screwdriver is enough.
4 bigger holes in the wall and then connect them with the Japanese jigsaw. Makes hardly any noise.

In our area, there were a few break-ins at single-story houses through the roof a few years ago. Many do not have a complete wooden sheathing under the roof tiles.

On the subject: We have all exterior doors including the garden gate keyed alike with a security key.

We also have a security lock with pull-out protection for the front door. I have temporarily switched the garage to a simple electronic lock with chip and PIN.

However, our child is starting school this year. A single replacement key costs a good 50€ with our lock. I definitely need that. When I think about what a new lock would cost me if a key is lost, I am seriously considering switching to an electronic lock. The only thing that has stopped me so far is that this is the only door that can be opened from the outside. If the lock malfunctions, I won’t be able to get in.

Yesterday our KABA Expert Plus locking system was installed.
I like the key shape! Nice and small and handy!

As soon as the mailbox is mounted (unfortunately the plasterer is delaying...) I will order a locking cylinder for it as well. And as soon as the fence with the two garden gates is in place, I will also order a locking cylinder for each of them.

I am glad that I chose a keyed-alike locking system. Finally only the car key and ONE key in my pocket!

The burglar likes it too. A key shape that immediately shows it leads to valuables - well, I’d say, security is something else.
