Isn't it possible to save the 30k over 10 years? It's "only" 250 euros per month.

Don't answer the actual question now, but...

...isn't the interest rate in 10 years with a remaining amount of 30,000 just completely irrelevant? I know we in Germany are very focused on maximum security, but how much would an interest rate of 3% or even 5% really hurt here?
Stress over that...?

yep, that's how it looks. You can also get 30k as an unsecured loan at BSpK. Or close a 30k building savings contract now and pay in.

Hi, Thank you for the numerous responses. Who among you actually has a Bausparvertrag and is it really worth it or isn't it better to save the money yourself. Regards Claudia

If you can do that, yes. But if you can't save everything, with the building savings contract you get a loan at conditions fixed today. And you only have to save about 40-60% (depending on the contract) in the available time, because the rest is a loan.
