Then at least a modern one from below fits, because the thing takes up cabinet space.

It should just be affordable. Paying 3000€ for one is too expensive for me. Ideally, I would like a 90 cm Neff cooktop and a hood hanging from the ceiling above it. However, I can’t find anything affordable here in the width of 120 cm, and my high ceiling makes me a bit worried whether I can reach that far down.

You pay about half for a SIEMENS model. And our cooktop with extractor - in operation for 3 1/2 years now - does a good job.

We have something like that from Franke... and for the higher ceiling, there are "adapters", also in stainless steel

Then I would find a Berbel Skyline Frame great – you can also put small items on it and it pulls something away. Oops – I just read your budget...
