That's exactly where the problem lies,
installation of a bathtub does not include preparation of the wall connection. If it is not stated in the offer, they will not do it!!! They are not obligated to do so, according to the Chamber of Crafts K'lautern, it is not their duty.
The sealing tape, actually a decoupling tape, is simply not described in the offer, so it was not executed either. But ..... what a sloppy place, they have to inform you about it or discuss it because that is how it should be done.
Just the statement "never made" .... is not very professional ... in my opinion.
LV = Leistungsverzeichnis (bill of quantities) ... can also be called a specification sheet, it is created with what you want and then you get an offer based on that.
The watertightness of your tub is not their problem either, that is the tiler's matter. Because he creates the bond between tub, adhesive, and tiles and not, as many think, the silicone is the cure-all. Silicone joints are pure maintenance joints and depending on the type of contract have a warranty of 2-5 years. It has something to do with the Building Code and such ..... well, the whole thing is a bit tricky.
Talk to the sanitation people and get your tilers involved ..... document who ultimately did what and that’s that.
Believe me ... flat rates have long been obsolete in construction.
