Good day everyone.
We are renovating at my home. We want to do as much as possible ourselves. I installed all the windows, including a window front, together with a colleague who is a professional carpenter. To get the new sliding window front to the same height as the floor inside, we had to make a slot in the base of the floor. Now we have a slot on the outside that is about 4cm deep. My question is, which material should I use to close it so that it is also sealed? It must be sealed because otherwise, the water would seep through the upper concrete layer and then into the basement brick wall. A roofer suggested I seal it with epoxy resin, but it does not look nice. Ideally, it would be a material that can be painted. This way, we could paint the entire base so that the different materials of the slot are not visible.
Wouldn't it be enough to pour it up with cement or concrete?
I am attaching a picture of the whole thing.
Thank you very much for the help and kind regards.
