Hello,

I am currently in the new building and wanted to know whether I should go for the standard star cabling or the Unicable system? There are a total of 8 participants, but a maximum of 4 will be operated simultaneously. Only one satellite is to be received.

Hi,
make a star with an 8-way multiswitch. Costs are manageable and it is also more flexible.

And lay the cables into the empty conduit to possibly be able to replace them sometime in the future.

Hello Reini1234

Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. Unicable is associated with lower installation costs but is more prone to interference.

Star wiring is a bit more effort but so far the better system for normal use because it is less prone to interference and if an error does occur, it is easier to find the error here and it is much easier to find a professional for it.

Not every company does Unicable.

If new, then star wiring!

Where the main TV is, I would even lay double cable, meaning double socket. You can then record with the twin receiver and watch at the same time, on different channels.

For me, only star wiring as well.

The double satellite socket is a nice to have, but much more important is the additional double LAN socket at the TV!
