What does "current" mean then – 2014 was still before the current Energy Saving Ordinance – does the 2014 guide already address the draft of the 2016 Energy Saving Ordinance? That was good. If you stay here a little longer, it will dawn on you: that "expert" is the shortest forum joke – there are birds who cheerfully quote standards that unfortunately only apply to adjacent areas (or: are no longer valid). That technical knowledge can also become outdated is a completely unknown phenomenon to some contemporaries. An expert is only worth as much as his further training (and his professional liability insurance). Apart from the unfortunately true core of the saying that the harshest critics of moose were once moose themselves.

Since when does the Energy Saving Ordinance specify how windows are to be installed? I don't see any connection there, at most to the topic of airtightness. But nothing significant has changed there either.

It was the same for us back then. Offers ranged from 17,000 to 34,000 for the same windows. Some just charge quite a lot, for example, dismantling including disposal costs only 1,500 at company A, but 3,500 at company B. Or extras like invisible hinges sometimes cost 500, sometimes a 4,000 surcharge.

To my knowledge, there has been no change in windowinstallation due to the energy saving ordinance. So "currently" means that no new (building physics) findings have emerged in the meantime that would have made an adjustment necessary.

Of course, there are fewer and fewer good ones and the better ones. You just have to hire the right ones, but that applies throughout the entire house construction! It also requires quite a bit of luck.

How did you decide back then, purely by gut feeling or by price?
