Hello,
I always have to smile when I read questions like these
Everywhere people philosophize about new technologies, renewable energies, or green roofs, but when it comes to their own roof, the discussion suddenly stops.
Clay roof tiles are usually more expensive, because the roofer cannot handle them as carelessly as concrete roof tiles; so a lot of breakage must be taken into account. Why it is now offered at price neutral for you – no idea, because Nelskamp® also provides for this price difference.
Concrete roof tiles of the newer generation are not really better or worse than clay roof tiles. This is mainly because they are mostly offered with double glazing; often with a 30-year factory warranty.
Finally, it should be mentioned that green roofing brings many proven advantages, for which interested builders pay a lot of money. To name just a few:
And builders worry when these advantages are gradually achieved free of charge on their roof
Best regards from the Rhineland
Hello, we just had our construction meeting and the following roof coverings are up for selection:
Roof covering with Nelskamp F 7 old black clay roof tile
engobed or roof covering with Nelskamp
planum black longlife matte concrete roof tile
both are priced equally. We like the concrete roof tiles much better because of their shape, but we don't know how durable they are or how they handle growth of greenery, etc.
What are your experiences or opinions?

[*]Longer lifespan of the roof sealing due to protection against UV radiation, temperature differences, hail impact, and crust formation
[*]Improvement of heat and cold insulation
[*]Binding and filtering of dust and air pollutants
[*]Improvement of airborne sound insulation through greater vibration inertia of the total surface and good sound absorption of the vegetation
[*]Protection against electro-smog
And builders worry when these advantages are gradually achieved free of charge on their roof
