Therefore this note! Do without an attic in this area and open the space upwards to the new double casement window, which would also be an alternative to increase living value :)

OK, got it – I made a mistake in the designation of the house type. Then it is not a semi-detached house but a terraced house.

No, you did not: a semi-detached house is only a row without a middle house, the deviation from the usual construction method in your case lies in the ridge direction, i.e. we had assumed your houses to be eaves-facing. In gable-facing terraced houses, the lighting problem should actually not occur at all (?)

Here again the view from the front (when I stand on the street in front of both houses). The ridge direction is therefore towards the street. Why is this not a usual construction method? Enough light comes in there, why not – I also have photovoltaics on the side?!? I want a window in the red marked area, but according to BayBO that is not allowed – unless it is a fire protection window.

hm I've seen something like that before - not ugly from the outside at all ;)

To be honest, I wouldn't want skylights there, because the neighbor could look straight in if they're not staggered.

ps I thought the idea to open up the attic was pretty good, it makes everything seem bigger - you could section off something under the attic and make a kind of light well down below. Unless there's already photovoltaic panels on it...?

I lived in a house like that. It was called Zigzag houses. Still, if you take a look around with open eyes at other residential areas or stroll through the municipality, it is not the common building style , so one mentions something like that. But yes, now clarified. I have made my suggestion. You can also install a high band of windows into the partition wall via the hallway or another non-private room.
