Roller shutters and venetian blinds in anthracite - what disadvantages?

As long as the dark in front of the windows is there, it is not critical, most of the heat stays outside - even if the material reaches a few degrees more. It becomes critical when the sun heats a gap to a dark surface through the window, then potentially destructive heat buildup occurs. I would not worry.

I am currently facing the same question as It would also be interesting to know whether it is specifically better to use aluminum instead of plastic for the roller shutters in anthracite. I could imagine that aluminum is somewhat less sensitive to heat than plastic.

yes and no. Plastics are generally less resistant to aging than metal, and extreme temperatures and dimensional changes lead to faster aging.

I don’t find it very nice from the inside because you are always looking at such a large, very dark surface.

We have dark roller shutters but can only report on these first few really warm days of the year so far. First of all, I can say that they really help. It even feels like they help more when the slats are 50% open, i.e., horizontal. That way you can still have a nice view outside. Of course, the house heats up, that's inevitable, but we have a complete south orientation with very large windows and it still remains pleasantly cool in comparison. We have no comparison when it comes to the color. Ours is RAL 9007, aluminum gray. However, I don’t think it would make much of a difference. We haven’t noticed any creaking or anything similar so far. But as I said, it is also the first year in the house.
