Roll plaster on drywall instead of fleece?

Hello dear ones,

our gypsum plaster (Q2 ready for wallpapering) on the ground floor is drying slowly, the screed will be coming soon, and the drywallers will also be closing the walls upstairs in a few weeks.
So, of course, we are now thinking about the further processing of the walls

According to the plasterer, it is best to just paint the walls, so no wallpaper. That suits our taste very much, as we like the natural plaster texture.

Only the filigree ceiling as well as the gypsum board (Gipskartonplatten) upstairs are causing us headaches.
I am great at using a brush, but just the thought of applying some kind of fleece already gives me stomachaches

Now, while browsing in the hardware store, I saw this roll plaster from Kna.f.

Has anyone of you already had experience with how this looks on the wall? Would this be an alternative to the painter's fleece on the gypsum boards? We don’t want to create structures, but rather produce a smooth surface that will then be nicely painted. Or will there be movement cracks?

Why didn’t you have the drywall installed in Q3 or Q4? It hardly costs any extra (usually about 50 cents per sqm from Q2 to Q3). Otherwise, at least the contours of the drywall will be visible with textured plaster (I know from my own experience). I have no experience with fleece/filigree ceiling.

We didn’t inquire beforehand and it wasn’t even questioned or offered. The Q2 plaster also turned out very well, and the plasterer gave me tips on how to quickly remove any possible streaks with a trowel, which we haven’t seen at all so far.

Do you mean the joints that are filled? That would of course be annoying

Yes, you can see the joints in the ceiling with us. Roll plaster from ??? (it's been a few years since we applied it) and then painted white. It's not really bad, but if you look at it from the side in daylight, you can see the filling.

We also struggled for a long time with the question of what we should do. I actually wanted to just take the bare plaster. But somehow I was reluctant to have 20 layers of paint on the walls after 50 years. So we took a very flat fleece and spackled the joints again. Now you can't see a seam anywhere. Fortunately, I didn't have to do it myself.

The price would have been okay, but for us, they quoted almost €4 per sqm.... for 600 sqm area, that’s a considerable amount.

Our plasterers were also top-notch, but painting directly at Q2 doesn’t work at all. We tested it. You can see the transitions when the light hits. With wallpaper, you can also see the seams, but that looks more natural. Whether I would wallpaper 600 sqm again... probably not.

Those were 2 tough weeks of work.... not physical, more mental.
