Retrofitting blinds, which manufacturer

My question doesn’t quite fit here, since we bought a finished house and now want to retrofit blinds. I hope it’s still okay to ask here.

My problem is that every provider I contact collaborates with only one manufacturer. Our preferred provider, for example, works with Roma. But I don’t like either the round or the pentagonal cases, and the provider says that no one uses the rectangular ones anymore. I actually find them the most suitable for our townhouse. But okay, I’ll believe him. When googling, I often see pictures of very compact cases that fit exactly into the window niche. In our case, they would protrude forward over the facade and also extend into the window. Therefore, we would probably put the Roma cases on the facade. I am now wondering if there are manufacturers that have smaller cases than Roma’s, which might also fit into our window niches. Does anyone know about the different manufacturers and can give me a tip?

We would actually even like to retrofit venetian blinds in the ground floor, but because of these huge cases, I can’t come to terms with it. So if anyone has a tip about venetian blinds, always happy to hear it.

Do I understand correctly: the house has windows completely without shading, meaning neither blinds nor roller shutters?

A roller shutter box has to go somewhere, meaning the rolled-up blind has to fit inside. The dimensions of the box take up space, in height and depth.

Installed in the window reveal, this practically means new windows.

What was used fifty years ago for retrofitting in old buildings at the time (originally without roller shutter boxes because of shutter panels) would theoretically still look just as ugly today. Only now the front/exterior side is made semi-circular.

Of course, it's disappointing that some boxes were forgotten here. We have venetian blinds from Reflexa; according to the catalog, there are definitely also rectangular boxes. However, you can always have the boxes built separately, exactly according to your own ideas.

I would carefully consider whether there are better alternatives for retrofitting roller shutters. The boxes need to go somewhere, and as described, it won't fit into the reveal, and the result never looks good. Additionally, a lot can go wrong with installation and sealing, rainwater may collect on the box, the window sills might no longer fit - in other words: there are also technical risks that I would rather avoid in a new building.
