The issue with 2 residential units has been settled; we now want to live in the house alone and are focusing on the expansion of the ground floor.

The old fireplace is to be replaced by a modern variant.

The old floor plan does not show the truth; currently, there is a large room on the left and right as well as the WC. Only the fireplace and the thicker wall between the WC and Child2 are relevant because water/sewage are located there. The rest is all drywall or non-existent.

The red indicates the knee walls at the exterior walls and the walls in the middle.

The whole thing currently looks like this:

It should not become smaller, it just doesn’t have to become bigger either. And/besides, there is hardly a better room for the bedroom than the one that was intended for it. And here I see a big problem: hooked by Pinterest and mainstream, it absolutely has to be the huge aircraft carrier… and I think you/you all will also force it in there by hook or by crook, although it probably rather takes something away from the room. Instead of adapting the island to the existing spaces, a pre-made idea somehow has to find its place in the room. The room itself also doesn’t have good dimensions or the proportions of the walls aren’t right if you consider the optimum. I’ll see if I’m still in the mood to do some planning in the evening – even though my attitude is more like “open to everything, I let myself be surprised, also gladly by more creative solutions.” Such a corset rather takes away the joy of planning from a creative person. Maybe there is a nice solution.

I agree with you 100%, mostly the ladies there are too enthusiastic about it and it comes to "I want that too"

That would be very kind of you. Also gladly a solution without the corset, as you already wrote we should be open for planning according to the circumstances. I definitely thank you in advance!
