Hello everyone, we are about to start our house construction project near Heide in Dithmarschen and are considering possibly having a solid wood house built. The question is only which providers are suitable for this. Maybe someone here in the forum has experience with local providers?

Of course, I have already come across, for example, Fjorborg, but I believe they work not with solid wood, but with timber frame, which is quite a different quality.
Besides, from various people's experiences, I have heard that regional providers are often more reliable and offer better deals.

What is your opinion on this and can you name a few companies with whom you have had positive experiences in and around Heide?

What does "ggf." mean? - I interpret it as not being strictly fixed on solid wood; to me, there sounds a bit like "a sturdy house for hard cash," so no specific preference for wood, but rather for "solid." The advantages of regional construction companies would indeed be such that you would find just as well – but more frequently / more comprehensively – also with stone house builders. So enlighten us, where should we "place" you between belief, fears, and conviction.

I think you should first clarify the floor plan, functions, and individual use after you probably already have a building plot; afterwards you will see whether it will be a wooden house or which timber construction method.
A beautiful house in which one feels comfortable can be built in many ways, each also with the option to use a lot of wood.

So it should be wood after all. Either some kind of Swedish house or something towards a polarlifehouse. I still have to somehow convince my father-in-law, who of course is an advocate of the old school, that a solid house made of stone is the only right way. I have now looked at Talishaus from Husum, which apparently works with timber frame construction. From my point of view, this has most disadvantages compared to log house or solid wood house constructions, because the walls, for example, are not double-sheathed. A negative effect of this is, among other things, that the house then becomes incredibly noisy. That is why I would actually rather not work with timber frame. These are, I suppose, also the typical prefabricated houses where everything is delivered and glued together in the shortest possible time. I would actually like it to be a bit more solid and am looking for a suitable builder for that. I had Honka recommended by an acquaintance, who apparently builds nationwide in Germany. However, their prices are probably beyond my level.

Honka has been around for a very long time. When I built in 1990, there was also a Honka construction site in town. Back then, there was a lot of chaos there. The house is still standing, but I remembered hearing often that the massive beams gradually all developed strong cracks and that bothered the owner. I had seen Polarlife once, but I think then you should probably redefine the word Budget. There were some nice things there though.....oh dear.

Oh dear, then you really have to start at the very beginning ... what is a steam engine. By "boarded" you probably mean clad here; you consider the frame construction as flimsy as a raccoon’s belly; a solid wood house for you is a log house that the man in the mountains (do those under 50 still know him?) freshly fetched from the forest builds for you. Yes, that’s how it was in the Kaiser era, when the Ergo group was still called Hamburg Mannheimer. That would be neither eco nor sustainable, hardly more outdated, and you wouldn’t want to know the wall thicknesses for the energy saving ordinance with this method. Today’s solid wood has nothing to do with Alm-Öhi’s log house anymore (although you are mistaken about Talis: they still build in the core principle a nearly classic log house). And maybe you will consider a stone house after all: the father-in-law was only wrong about "the only true one" regarding "only". There are great timber house builders, but for them your building site is wrong: the timber house competence center is in Bavaria, so for you really far away from "regional".
