Somehow I don't believe that a heating company really provides independent advice. They have the devices they install, and they prefer to recommend those.

We have such a device for indoor installation with the Tecalor THZ 504.

On the website of the Wärmepumpen verbrauchzentrale, you can quite easily see which devices deliver good performance figures. So far, I would base my decisions on that.

Sure, you can do that. Some have additional features (automatic summer bypass, preheating coil, ...), but in principle the manufacturers don’t differ much or can all provide the necessary range of functions. It’s truly no rocket science.

We had a Tecalor THZ504 installed. Our house builder prefers these Tecalor devices in his houses, but there are also alternatives. What I think is important to know or consider: all systems have advantages and disadvantages. The setting of such combined devices is extremely important and should initially be done by a professional. Our calculations and plans are many pages from Tecalor in which everything is precisely defined. The executing craftsman must strictly adhere to this. The system was set up by an employee of Stiebel Eltron, he spent about 4-5 hours in the house for the acceptance. This and the precise monitoring of consumption values and, if necessary, the adjustment of a few parameters have an extreme effect on electricity consumption. Certainly, all integral devices of this type will work.

With us also a Tecalor air-to-water heat pump with an integrated ventilation system.

An advantage in our eyes is also that it is a complete unit, so two separate devices + hot water storage tank with a lot of clutter are eliminated, and we also definitely did not want an outdoor unit.

Our system has now been running for 2 years and so far we are very satisfied.
The power consumption also stabilized well after the first year, once the system was adjusted downward a bit.
