Hello,

after the sun gave us quite a few sunburns on our terrace this summer, we now want to take advantage of the cheap "winter prices" and have an awning installed on the house.

Power and control cables as well as the switch in the house and corresponding brackets in the wall are already available.

What we have in mind is an awning with the following specifications:

- cassette awning
- width 500 - 600 cm
- projection 350 - 400 cm
- electric operation
- a certain level of watertightness so that the terrace does not have to be cleared every time there is a short shower

Optionally ("nice to have"):

- wind sensor
- UV sensor => automatic extension and retraction depending on the sun’s position
- lighting

Has anyone here already had experience with such an awning?

We would be grateful for tips on manufacturers and models, possibly also on an installation partner in the Stuttgart metropolitan area.

Also interesting, of course, would be the price you paid...

Regards,

Dirk

I can ask my neighbors. Since last year, they have an awning with all the extras.

Despite the hot summer, we decided against it.
We invested in three sun umbrellas, SPF 50. One with a diameter of four meters, one with 3 m, and for the small terrace 2.70 m. Each umbrella in a different color. The costs were reasonable thanks to the large online retailer with A...: including covers and umbrella stands, one of them 50 kg granite and two with 90 kg: about 500 €.

Our large terrace is 40 sqm. The advantage of the umbrellas for us: we can sit close to the lawn and no one has to zigzag around the furniture to go around or into the house.

That would be super kind of you!

We also tried one parasol this year. Despite 100 kg concrete slabs on the parasol stand, after not even an hour it took off on its own and flew freely over to the neighbor's property and destroyed their rotary clothesline...

Well, of course it was not a quality product but one of those cheap ones for EUR 80.00 from the big box store...

We will definitely install an awning, we already have the appropriate mounts and STO blocks in the wall and have also installed the power cable and the switch for it.

Regards,

Dirk

The documents were given by the daughter ( Geschenk von ihr ) and she is coming to visit on Tuesday. The awning is not from a local company. So it could possibly be interesting for you.
