We now also have the lowered tub. But you also used it as a shower. We will do it again, there is nothing against it.

I agree. I know many people with a freestanding tub, and I don't see where the luxury and price factor would be. It's a bit more expensive, but marginal. Otherwise, in my opinion, it always looks silly when the tub is so shallow. And having the entry so low is also uncomfortable.

I think such decisions are best made when you look at different baths.

Either in a large bath exhibition or in a show house exhibition.

We went to a show house exhibition for various decisions.

It was very funny because we were not looking for a house, but for inspiration for further planning.

We will place the bathtub on the screed. There are mainly 2 reasons for this:

1) Underfloor heating can be laid through
2) It provides more flexibility for future changes

There was actually no reason for us to place it on the raw floor instead. I personally find getting in this way even more comfortable, as there is no difference in level.

However, from past experience, I only know it as placing the bathtub in a recess of the screed, so this is by no means a new development. I suspect the reason for this was the otherwise occurring point load on the screed, which today is countered by using a bathtub shell made of EPS.

It is standard... not only today, but also 40 years ago. My old house has such a construction, my parents' house too. If you pay attention, you almost only see “lowered” bathtubs.
Individual cases prove the standard

Later more flexible?

Who will move the self-planned bathtub, please?
