You can conveniently register your construction project online with bgbau, I have already done that. But the statutory accident insurance with bgbau only applies if the work goes beyond mere acts of kindness...

I think that (possibly except for my niece) this already goes beyond mere acts of kindness. My parents want to come and work for 3 weeks (I hope they don't overexert themselves at their age), my sister and brother-in-law are taking time off and will probably work hard for those 4 days (he works in construction and wants to plaster our stairwell, hallway, corridor, and the bathrooms – as far as they are not tiled).
I am not sure about my niece – on the one hand, it could be considered an act of kindness, on the other hand, I could never forgive myself if something happened to her and I hadn’t insured her. But maybe she is just looking after our children.

Good morning. I’m just logging in with my first question in this forum after having read many exciting things so far. What is the approximate amount involved with the BG insurance? Is the risk even worth it when building a house worth x-hundreds of thousands of euros to NOT take out a BG insurance? Is the insurance a cost factor? It would be cool if someone could post their contribution amount.

Does anyone have a tip for an affordable construction helper accident insurance? For my construction helpers, it probably won't go beyond a favor service.
