Hello,

normally 8-10 cm insulation with WLG 035 is installed under the underfloor heating. If you switch to a better insulation material (WLG 025 or better), you can also achieve suitable insulation with a smaller floor structure, without carrying out basement ceiling insulation (which, if done properly, also affects the upper wall part of the basement).

Good luck!

Regards, Ellie

You can calculate it backwards.

15 cm - 1.5 cm floor covering - 6.5 cm screed including underfloor heating leaves 7 cm insulation.

If that was planned that way from the beginning and you just didn't see it, it should still be suitable and work (for the energy certificate).

In our case, the structure is 19 cm, the same in the basement, ground floor, and upper floor, 8 cm insulation WLG 035, on top 3 cm carrier board for underfloor heating including impact sound insulation, then 6.5 cm screed and 1.5 cm floor covering.
