Hello everyone,

thank you for all the opinions on the topic.
In particular, the idea from Musketier was very helpful :)
If the budget allows, we will now plan with a half-turned platform staircase - then we have both: comfort and efficiency!

We also have a half-spiral staircase and are very satisfied with it. Neither I nor my parents and parents-in-law (aged between 60-70) find it more difficult to walk on. As far as I can tell, with the half-spiral staircase (if it is not bricked up in the middle), larger items like a couch can be transported better. Visually, I would also prefer the half-spiral staircase for your floor plan. One question, of course, is how high the knee wall is at the top; at 50 cm there could be problems, we have 110 cm (finished floor) and everything is nicely airy... A landing staircase would of course be the most elegant solution if there is enough space. However, I would reduce the hallway to about 1.50 m width anyway and instead enlarge the bathroom and storage room, as in my opinion that space is more useful and might also create room for the landing.
