First of all, thank you very much for the numerous feedbacks. The repayment rate can be adjusted twice during the term without any additional costs. Admittedly, however, this was not really intended on my part.

The fears of my wife are probably mainly rooted in the financing of her parents. It was really "on the edge," and the children had to do without a lot. Therefore, I can somehow understand the concerns. Today, however, she was already more positive.

Currently, our basic rent is only €550, so this is already a significant difference. Nevertheless, your feedback has once again strengthened me in the belief that the intended rate is not completely excessive. I have consciously decided on the relatively high repayment rate for various reasons and have calculated different possible alternatives in advance. In my immediate circle of acquaintances, some repay only with 1%, some have no real sense at all of what residual amounts remain after the fixed interest period. If the interest rate develops accordingly, the follow-up financing is then almost impossible to manage. This risk would weigh on me more than an ambitious but realistic rate.

It will be tight with the children if one works part-time. Have you tried drawing a timeline and simulating the income with children?
